A few years ago (read: five years ago to be exact), I was pregnant with my youngest and we wanted to do a little sprinkle for her. Because we live in California, people were still pretty locked down (2021) due to Covid. So I decorated the house myself, invited a handful of friends, and we celebrated my little beach girl with a Baby on Board shower. This was not it. (You can view the first Baby on Board sprinkle here)
I posted that sprinkle to Pinterest and it went crazy! It’s still one of my most viewed pins. So when my friend said she loved the idea for her sprinkle, we did it again, only this time: better.

I think the key to a good party is usually balloons and flowers, but my friend was adamant she didn’t want the balloons. And she was right. The party was classier without them. I got two broken surfboards for a few bucks each, spray painted them, and it made the prettiest backdrop.

I made simple signs for each of the ‘stations’ that brought the party together: brunch, drinks, treats, games, and guest book. We served some simple foods that aligned with the beach theme: chicken salad croissants (that look like seashells), sand dollar cookies, and ‘oyster’ cookies. We mixed those inexpensive treats with some cake pops that were designed with our theme in mind, making the party look and feel a little more ‘expensive’ than it was.

Overall, we did this party on a pretty frugal budget, because, would you expect anything else from me? You can always get the look and feel you want, without spending a fortune. So why would you spend any more?
