Printable Birthday Banner

4.13.2015

Printable Birthday Banner // DIY // Snail Mail Birthday CardYou officially have 32 days to shop for my birthday. I know that I told you I didn’t need anything, but who are we kidding? I’d like a lifetime supply of cheeseburgers, a trip to the Maldives (because the IRS took that dream away), and a new mansion for my cat. I mean, I’d live there too, but this is strictly for her. I always put her needs first.

After I eat the cheeseburgers in my mansion in the Maldives, I will send you a thank you card. Hopefully it arrives on time, I hear the Maldives postal system is a little slow. I will also send you a beautiful card for your birthday. I’ll probably buy it at the dollar store, but if you’re real lucky I’ll make one by hand. Or you’ll get this Birthday Banner Box. I mean, it is clearly much cooler than my lifetime supply of cheeseburgers (but it still needs some work to compete with the Maldives).

Printable Birthday Banner // DIY // Snail Mail Birthday Card So one day, as I was cruising through Pinterest, I found this adorable free printable birthday banner from Whipperberry. How cool to be able to print/cut/hang this pretty banner for someone’s birthday? I automatically pinned it, and you should too. Because you never know when you’ll need a printable birthday banner at the last minute. Think co-workers, friends, husband…that way when you “forget” their birthday, you can pull out your handy-dandy birthday banner.

After I pinned it, I had an idea. What if I printed it really small, strung it on baker’s twine, and put it in a box? It could be a mini-banner, sent as a birthday card. I contacted Heather at Whipperberry to see if she would be okay with me giving you my mini-version, and she said yes! So before you open it, PLEASE check out her banner (and PIN IT!) first. Then you can open mine. And don’t you dare skip the steps.

To save/print the mini-banner, click here. You will also need to print the “Pull Me Tag.“After you cut it, use a mini-hole puncher to punch TWO holes in each letter. That may not seem important, but otherwise the letters move too much. String onto baker’s twine, and fill in small square box (Michael’s sells them for $.99). Currently these will cost $2.32 US to mail at USPS. So for $3.31 you have an adorable handmade birthday card!

So what do you think? Better than the $4.99 Hallmark cards?

HA – cute! Can you submit that same order for me? Oh, but I need to include the ‘no weight gained’ hamburgers… LOL

I like it much better than the card, but cheeseburgers in The Maldives sounds even better! I was expecting more of a tax return for a vacation in Costa Rica, but Uncle Sam squashed that dream this year.

Oh my gosh you have no idea! We owed more money than I’d ever imagine! I feel like the amount we paid is only what RICH people would pay! And we are by no means rich! 🙁

This is such a cute idea! You could even write your message on the letters, which makes it personal, like a regular card.

Totally! I used one of those little square cards from the Dollar Spot at Michael’s and put it in the bottom, under the banner!

Oh my gosh YES! And especially if it’s from Husk (in Nashville)! Have you been there?! It is on my list of American cheeseburgers to try. Is there another place in Nashville I should add to my list?! (I have a serious cheeseburger problem).

Not so they grow up thinking one place is “better” than another — but so they grow up curious, grateful, and grounded. And the more of the world we see, the more thankful I become for home, for the freedoms we have, and for the life we get to build together.

Social media makes it feel like every trip requires new outfits, a new summer closet, a new date-night dress…but honestly? It doesn’t.

I’m willing to bet you already have plenty of great options hanging in your closet. And instead of spending a bunch of money on clothes you’ll probably only wear once, maybe it’s enough to just wear what you already love.

The sticky fingerprints will wash away, the car seats will come out, bedtime routines will end, and the house that once felt so loud will get quieter little by little.

And maybe if we see more of these easy little inexpensive gifts, we can make it more acceptable to gift within budget. Because that’s what it’s all about.

What’s that saying? It’s the thought that counts.
I’ve been seeing so many reels lately saying that I’ve been seeing so many reels lately saying that Mother’s Day is only for moms with small children. I couldn’t disagree more. To me, Mother’s Day is not just about me. It’s about the women who helped shape me, as a mother, a woman, a friend. It’s about my friends who help me be a better mother, even if they don’t have little kids themselves. It’s about my own mother, who is the biggest inspiration for me, to be a better mother myself. It’s about the many generations before me that allowed me to be a mother at all. It’s about every woman in my life that loves me and my girls as if they’re their own. That’s who I’ll be celebrating this Mother’s Day.
