Easter Bunny Beers

3.24.2016

DIY Easter Bunny Beer

Listen. I’m as excited for Easter as the kid next door. I can’t wait to hunt for eggs, eat lots of chocolate, and run around the yard on a sugar high. However, I’d like to do all of the above while also enjoying an adult beverage. Can you blame me? I’m sure those of you with your own little angels can relate. You can have at least one right?

My family likes to hold an annual egg hunt for the kiddos. When all the eggs have been found, they promptly start the annual beer hunt. Each adult brings a six pack of beer, and they’re all hidden in the yard. Finders keepers. If this doesn’t sound like the best hunt ever, you are no fun. It probably helps that Easter in Wisconsin can bring chilly temperatures, so your beers are ice cold upon opening. Take this weekend for example: I believe the area was just hit with an average of 4-6 inches of snow. Seriously.

DIY Easter Bunny Beers

I’m not as much of a beer drinker as I once was…I think all of the cheap beer in college ruined it for me. But when it comes time to participate in a beer can hunt, I would jump on board. Especially if the beers were all made into cute little bunnies like mine. It’s possible that’s setting the bar too high, but what’s a holiday without a little added holiday spirit?

DIY Easter Bunny Beers and Sodas

I saw someone make a bunny out of a brown paper bag and my mind went immediately to the liquor store. I mean, brown paper bags….beer cans…I’m not the only one that put two and two together, right? Here’s a good tutorial on how to cut your bag into bunny ears. Fill the bag with a beer (or a soda for those of you good respectable citizens out there), and use a glue gun to glue on a cottontail. You may have to fold a little of the bag around the can, and the glue gun can secure it for you. Don’t bother trying to make one with a 40oz beer. It doesn’t work so well. Trust me.

I’m hoping to find these hidden all over my yard this weekend. If you feel like making one for me, make sure you don’t hide it too hard. It’s supposed to be 70 degrees and ain’t no one got time for hot beer.

Even with the bathroom trips. 🤣 Listen. Social me Even with the bathroom trips. 🤣

Listen. Social media tends to make traveling with children look glamorous, and the truth is, it usually isn’t. Are some kids professional travelers? Of course. But reality is that there’s always pitfalls and unexpected turbulence that you just have to mentally prepare for before you travel. And in the end? I promise you, it’s worth all the hassle.

Why yes, I do. 🤣🤣🤣

One of my favorite things we get to give our girls One of my favorite things we get to give our girls is perspective. To see new places. To meet different people. To experience cultures outside of their own.

Not so they grow up thinking one place is “better” than another — but so they grow up curious, grateful, and grounded. And the more of the world we see, the more thankful I become for home, for the freedoms we have, and for the life we get to build together.

I might be the world’s worst “influencer,” because I might be the world’s worst “influencer,” because I’m here to tell you this: you do not need a whole new wardrobe for vacation.

Social media makes it feel like every trip requires new outfits, a new summer closet, a new date-night dress…but honestly? It doesn’t.

I’m willing to bet you already have plenty of great options hanging in your closet. And instead of spending a bunch of money on clothes you’ll probably only wear once, maybe it’s enough to just wear what you already love.
One day, instead of hearing little feet running th One day, instead of hearing little feet running through the house all day, I’ll be leaving voicemails hoping they call me back when they have time.

The sticky fingerprints will wash away, the car seats will come out, bedtime routines will end, and the house that once felt so loud will get quieter little by little.

It’s strange how the things that exhaust you in the moment become the very things you ache for later. 🤍
When did it become expected to spend hundreds of d When did it become expected to spend hundreds of dollars on Teacher Appreciation gifts? Don’t get me wrong, if it were in the budget you better believe it’s worth it. I am not advocating for giving them LESS, I’m just advocating for staying within your families budget. And maybe if we see more of these easy little inexpensive gifts, we can make it more acceptable to gift within budget. Because that’s what it’s all about.

What’s that saying? It’s the thought that counts.
I’ve been seeing so many reels lately saying that I’ve been seeing so many reels lately saying that Mother’s Day is only for moms with small children. I couldn’t disagree more. To me, Mother’s Day is not just about me. It’s about the women who helped shape me, as a mother, a woman, a friend. It’s about my friends who help me be a better mother, even if they don’t have little kids themselves. It’s about my own mother, who is the biggest inspiration for me, to be a better mother myself. It’s about the many generations before me that allowed me to be a mother at all. It’s about every woman in my life that loves me and my girls as if they’re their own. That’s who I’ll be celebrating this Mother’s Day.
