Giveaway Alert: Adult Coloring Book

9.08.2015

Adult Coloring Book GiveawayI don’t know about you, but I was not too excited to return to work after the nice long weekend. Why is it that when you get that extra day off work, it is even harder to return to work than it is on a typical two day weekend? I couldn’t fall asleep last night, so of course I woke up feeling groggy and sick this morning. Not the best start to another work week if you ask me.

But because I don’t want your week to start off on the bad note that mine did, I’m hosting my very first giveaway!! I had so much fun with my adult coloring book pages that I figured I’d give one away to one of my readers. This book is the best I’ve found so far, because all the pages are fun quotes you can hang up at work, frame for the house, or even give to your friends to cheer them up.

Adult Coloring Book GiveawaySince you can’t get your adult coloring on without some sort of utensil, I bought the 72 pack of colored pencils to go with it. With that many options, your pages will definitely stand out. Am I the only person who gets seriously excited for a new coloring book and a SEVENTY-TWO pack of colored pencils?! Hello options!

Adult Coloring Book Giveaway Prize Details

Here are the RULES for entering:

Because I love to color, as a child and still as an adult. I can’t hold colors/pens as well but it’s also great therapy for me (had a mild stroke). But also it is a great anxiety release as well as that Simple Living way of remembering our youth!! ?

Ohhhh it would be great therapy for you! I have also read a lot that it is very therapeutic for people in general, that it calms the mind the same way that yoga does!

I am sick of coloring from kids coloring books (Frozen, Mickey, Disney Princess), so this would be a nice change. Plus, in all honestly, I just like to win things.

Would absolutely love this colouring book! The “Today is going to be awesome” page was one of the first pages I found on Pinterest that started the crazy colouring faze I’m in! I am in university for nursing so colouring is the perfect way to shut off my brain for a little me time. Also, it’s really cheap therapy 😉

Oh my gosh it was mine too! I think it’s the neatest one online for free. It’s from this book too, which is exactly why I loved this book so much!

I’d love to win! I am a big fan of the adult coloring book craze, although I’ve started to say coloring book for grown ups cause when I said “adult coloring book” to my coworkers they asked me what these pictures were of that made them “adult”.

    • shauna841505@yahoo.com says

      9.09.2015 at 12:56 pm

Oh my gosh that is HILARIOUS!!! I didn’t even think about that. I would be so embarrassed if people thought I was coloring nude people! Hahaha

      • Jamie says

        9.09.2015 at 5:22 pm

Haha I know! They really thought that an adult coloring book meant an “adult” coloring book for adults! I had to tell them it’s really pictures of flowers, castles, normal things like that haha

This post caught my eye because I’m in an infertility community where a lot of the women have been raving about adult coloring books to take your mind off the craziness. Then here you are! Hope I win! Thanks for the giveaway 🙂

Wow!!! That would be such a great way to calm the mind. I’ve heard it is a lot like yoga for your mind! I definitely think it is therapeutic for me too!

I really would like to win this coloring book because I love to “DIY!” I believe if your not crafting your not really living.
I know a lot of guys that waste their time mindlessly chasing a ball around a golf course while all the while they could be bringing sunshine and joy to others with this book and accompanied colored pencils. Totes obvi I deserve this! Pick me!!! ;)))

So I just found out this adult coloring book is becoming a thing. I have the artistic ability of a cat in heat after getting shot up with cocaine so I’m not really sure how great I’d be at these coloring books lol

Listen. I’m all about having a good time. I love t Listen. I’m all about having a good time. I love to travel, I love to go out for dinner, I love having new clothes. But somewhere along the way, we’ve lost the ability to just say “No, I don’t want to spend the money on that.”

Our budgets don’t always allow for the same experiences that our friend or neighbors may have, and that is perfectly okay. We need to stop overspending and start saving. We need to be financially secure before buying more junk that isn’t fulfilling, or going out for another dinner.

Do you feel comfortable telling someone you don’t have the budget for something?
Somewhere along the way we forget to find the joy Somewhere along the way we forget to find the joy in all the little things. The little joys in twirling in a flower field. Stopping to smell the flowers.

If we want our children to enjoy all of the little joys, we need to make sure we are doing it too. What little joy did you enjoy today?
Growing up, I dreamed of living by the beach and p Growing up, I dreamed of living by the beach and palm trees. It was magical to me. I never felt like my soul belonged in a landlocked state. A cold state. Were there beautiful things about it? Of course. Summer in Wisconsin will always have my heart. But living by the ocean will always be where my soul feels at home.

Over twenty years ago I got in a car and drove across the country to San Diego with a few friends. I’ve now lived here longer than I lived in Wisconsin. And even though I’ll always “be” from Wisconsin, my girls will always be from San Diego. And that’s a crazy concept to me. Raising the girls at the beach was something out of my dreams. So now I can teach them firsthand that we CAN make our dreams come true!
I remember when my oldest was little and someone t I remember when my oldest was little and someone told me that she NEEDED to go to preschool or she’d never catch up. I feel the same way today that I felt then, six years ago. My daughters never NEEDED preschool. Is it a good option for some parents (or the only option for others)? Yes. Is it BAD? No. But kids don’t NEED it. They need outdoor spaces, they need playgrounds and parks and beaches. They need free play with neighbors and friends and family. And yes, if none of those are options, of course preschool is not a bad idea, but can we stop pretending kids that don’t go are going to be irreparably harmed?
There’s just something about that second child. Th There’s just something about that second child. They pick up everything so quickly. They’re unstoppable. They want to do everything and they want to do it now.

Second child life.
The day my husband looked at me and said, “I’m so The day my husband looked at me and said, “I’m so glad we have daughters,” I just about melted. Because like most men, he always envisioned a son. Someone he could pass his useless sports knowledge to, someone he could play mediocre golf with. Maybe someone to watch the hockey playoffs with (that doesn’t complain like I do).

When we found out our second girl was coming, he famously said he watched the pink smoke hoping it would turn to purple and then blue. The first thing out of his mouth after he really digested it was, “now I have to pay for two weddings.”

And then one day, not long after the second came along, he realized why he’s a a girl dad. Because he couldn’t be more perfect for them. And they are exactly what he needed.
After seeing the beauty of this world, I just don’ After seeing the beauty of this world, I just don’t see how there’s any other option. God’s beauty is in everything, and sometimes I feel sad that I’ll never be able to see it all.
My husband and I never thought we’d be the homesch My husband and I never thought we’d be the homeschooling family, but here we are. What started as a few things here and there that we didn’t like, exploded into not liking much of anything in a traditional school, and liking just about everything about homeschooling.

So now, here we are, on a random weekday, exploring our city. Picking up shells and learning about science. Meeting new people and gaining new friends. There’s so much more than doing lessons at home (although those happen too, don’t worry). There’s a whole big word out there to explore.
I have this theory. I think that as women, even wh I have this theory. I think that as women, even when we are done, we never really feel “done.” I think it’s innate. It’s biological. We were designed to procreate. We were designed to mother. When all of that is over, REALLY OVER, it’s a sad moment. It’s hard to accept. It’s hard to move on.

If you had asked me years ago if I would feel like this, I would have told you, “absolutely not. I’m done.” But when a woman gets to a “certain age,” it feels hard to accept.

How do you feel?
